Dr. Carleen Batson was born in Grenada, the Spice Island of the Caribbean; a tranquil island paradise celebrated for its lush vegetation, aromatic spices and picturesque beaches. Although she is a recent resident of British Columbia, she finds solace in the familiar topography that evokes fond memories of her homeland.

Dr. Batson is a Clinician-Scientist who obtained her Medical Degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada.  Her medical career has taken her to the United Kingdom, United States of America and now Canada.

She has gained significant experience in major healthcare systems. Much of her practice was at the Princess Alice Hospital in Grenada, where her dedication and workmanship were recognized by the Ministry of Health, honoring her with the award for Outstanding Services and Performance in healthcare.

She then went on to pursue Traumatic Brain Injury research at the University of Manitoba/Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg where she worked with colleagues from the Departments of Human Anatomy & Cell Science, Neurosurgery and Biomedical Engineering while collaborating with many top Canadian Universities. Through this work she successfully achieved 20+ peer-reviewed scientific journal publications, with some of her contributions being first-authored, showcasing her leadership and expertise in her research endeavors. In honor of these achievements, she received the Research Completion Scholarship Award for meritorious academic achievements, research ability and scholarly potential.

Dr. Carleen Batson has successfully passed US and Canadian Medical Licensure Exams and is a Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada. Her name is entered in the Canadian Medical Register.

As a valuable member of Elumind Centres for Brain Excellence, she aims to make a difference by guiding patients along their healing journey through the application of advanced Neurotherapeutic modalities.

Dr. Carleen Batson considers herself a lifelong explorer and looks forward to embracing life as a BC local.
